GLP-1s are a type of medication for diabetes and weight loss that have become extremely popular over recent months. These medications (e.g. Ozempic, Victoza, Rybelsus and Trulicity to name a few) have very limited and intermittent stock nationally due to widespread prescribing in both NHS and private sectors.
We were previously switching medications for our patients with diabetes where possible, but as of June 2023 we have had formal confirmation from the Department of Health and Medicines Management Teams that these medications are no longer available to prescribe and will not be until 2024 onwards.
