Latest Public Health England Coronavirus Advice

- If you think you have COVID-19 symptoms please go to 111 online DO NOT ATTEND YOUR GP

Do not leave home if you or someone you live with has any of the following:

  • a high temperature
  • a new, continuous cough
  • a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste

Check the NHS website if you have symptoms

- At this point in time GPs CANNOT test for the coronavirus which causes COVID-19

In light of the evolving coronavirus pandemic and in line with national guidance, Evelyn Medical Centre has moved to a telephone appointment only system.

We apologise for the inconvenience, but this is essential to minimise social contact and ensure the safety of all of our patients and that of our staff.

Everyone is being reminded to follow Public Health England advice to:

  • Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze. Then bin the tissue, and wash your hands, or use a sanitiser gel.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after using public transport. Use a sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

 One of our approved partner volunteer organisations will be in touch with you as soon as possible to offer you the help you need.

Don’t give your bank details, bank card or PIN to anyone, and don’t give cash to anyone who is not part of this volunteer scheme or you already know.

Check that the person who comes to help you is from the voluntary organisation who contacted you.

An Adviser is available by telephone every Friday morning and please telephone the Surgery for an appointment.

Alternatively, you can telephone the Adviceline on 0300 456 8390 (Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm, calls charged at local rate) for advice  and help.”

To avoid unnecessary trips to the surgery can patients please allow 3 full working days for dispensary to process your repeat prescriptions through. ie. If you order on Monday afternoon then it will be ready on Thursday afternoon.  Order Friday afternoon it will be ready Wednesday afternoon. Remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account for example if you order on a Saturday or Sunday you can collect Thursday, if you order on a Bank Holiday weekend you can collect on Friday.

Missed Appointments
If you no longer need your appointment or are unable to attend, please let the Surgery know so that your appointment can be offered to another patient.  Patients who regularly fail to keep their appointments may be removed from the Practice list.

Named Accountable GP

Our new NHS Contract states that all patients must be allocated a named GP.
All current patients registered with this practice are allocated a named GP
Any new patients will be allocated a named GP when they register
Your named accountable GP is responsible for you overall care, however you are still welcome to see any GP within the Practice not necessarily your named GP.
If you would like to know the name of you accountable GP, please ask at reception.

Both our Hope and Hathersage Surgeries are accessible by wheelchair users and have power assisted doors. There is designated parking for people with a disability and toilet facilities are available at both sites. Internally we have induction loops for those patients with hearing aids  for appointments and any other enquiries. Please let us know if we can improve our service for you.
